Our Story
90% of the children experienced sitting in a classroom for the first time
In 2023, Shepherd’s Heartbeat launch the Joshua Irwin Early Education Center, which now serves 80 children in the villages we serve. Approximately 90 percent of the children experienced sitting in a classroom for the first time. Access to education is extremely limited – the nearest school is a two-hour walk each way. As a result, many children delay schooling until their teenage years, only to drop out due to a lack of foundational learning.

At our school, children not only receive academic instruction but also learn the Word of God. They are taught to be kind and compassionate, inspired by the kindness they themselves have received. This spiritual foundation is helping shape a generation of children who understand the value of love, generosity, and community.

We are proud to have completed the construction of a new bathroom facility, improving sanitation and promoting health for both children and staff. This essential step helps create a safe and dignified learning environment, allowing every individual to thrive.
